I get to beta-test City of Heroes for a little over a week before its release. I am stoked, baby!

Now the question is how to build a character without gimping the poor thing. I suck at making characters. I just don't understand why I CAN'T do it all.

Recently, we tried out a scary game. My sister likes to be scared, so I tell her that they make some really cool ones now, and she might like them.

We rented Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly, which has a picture of the little ring girls on the cover. Man, I am tired of seeing that creepy hairy little girl.

Anyway, we turn it on, and I liked the gimpy sister thing, but we're getting creeped out, and the sun is slowly setting. I get into the first house, hear the first heartbeat, see the first ghost, and I'm ready to quit. I know each step I take is going to get us scared or killed. I don't even have the camera obscura yet, so I can't really die. The game has just begun.

We do get the camera, we can't get out of the house, I get lost in the closet, and my sister's favorite part.
(Restored transcript)

"Go back to that burny room with the garden. That's where the picture wants you to go."
"Okay, but where is it? I can't find my way around, and I'm not stumbing in the dark. What happened to the lights, anyway?"
"Go here. Okay, take a picture of that grill."

GAME: [shows man in pain in doorway] "Don't....Come....Near....Me."

"Hey, take a picture of that guy. Hey. HEY!!!! What are you doing?"
"I'm doing what he said. Don't worry about me coming near you, buddy. In fact, I'm turning this whole creepy game off."
"Don't you want to save if?"
"Didn't you hear me? I'm TURNING IT OFF."

Yeah, I don't like the creepy games. We got C to play it, and it didn't bother him, although we were practically in tears watching him run around the streets, having these ghosts stalk and attack him.

Now we're joking about True Crime: Streets of LA. We're seeing commericals and she's always joking about renting it. She got this game for Xmas, and she's never played it. That's what so funny. I guess we oughta. I keep getting stuck doing that slo-mo shooting thing at the beginning when you're supposed to be shooting for accuracy and speed. I can't make it through the academy.

I wish this had an automatic LJ tag: Currently playing: Zuma, Inspector Parker, WarCraft III, Animal Crossing, FFX-2 (Barbie version), Crystal Chronicles, QFGIV--which I have never finished!, and Circle of Blood III.

RIP: SAM AND MAX 2004--We didn't knew ye.

savesamandmax.com.

Go there. Weep. I did.

I wanted this game desperately since I finished playing the original back in '93. I could understand the cancelling of Full Throttle 2, even if I didn't like it, but THIS...this takes the cake.

Shame on you, Lucas Arts.
