I should have purchased that Quest for Glory Anthology when I saw it. Now my only hope is the local computer show (isn't one due?) because you can't buy it anywhere save for Ebay. You don't even want to know what it's going for on Ebay.
I'd better auction a kidney or something. How much is a level 6 almost 7 character on Asheron's Call worth? Yep. Looks like I'll have to sell a lot of blood or something.

Call me psychic, but when I wrote that bit about the Lord of the Rings test, I had no idea that there WAS one.
I can't find enough sites like this online. I just love finding and downloading abandonware. Keep the old classics alive.
This site only releases true abandonware (and don't count on those Chips N' Bits links to work) so it's guilt free.
Worth a look: Tierra The VGA version of KQI--with sound!
It occurs to me that even my videogame journals are more substantive than over half of the rest of the web journals out there.
Let's face it. How many online tests can you take before you figure out that you're:
a) a neckless feeb.
b) still clueless about who and what you are.
c) no closer to any real answer about yourself.
It doesn't matter what percent goth, or geek you are, what your Viking name/prison name/fairy name is, what disease you are, or which character in Star Wars/Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Lord of the Rings you most closely resemble. It's all crap, and should not be used as a label for yourself.
I don't write about videogames to find myself. We're already acquainted. Besides, who else cares what I think about being huffy about copyrighting your alterations of someone else's copyrighted material?

The Sims: Hot Date.
Man, more fun than masturbation. Forget all the social formula you used to use with Sims (talk to 30-35%, compliment to 50-60%, then hug, hug, hug).
Get ready for lots of interaction and fun.
Did I tell you that I want both the Xbox AND the Gamecube? No?
Oh, well. I'll get them, you know, just not for Christmas.

I'm going to talk about this Sims website that has really cool stuff, granted, but NO stuff is going to be worth $5 a month to download.
Are they on crack?
Yes, yes, they are.

Video Game Life is in a dull torpor. I feel too dull to play anything. I mean, I've got Monkey (that funky monkey) I'lan installed, and you KNOW how I love Dominick's voice, but I just don't feel up to playing right now.
I'm burned out on Black & White.
I'm too tired of Arcanum.
I'm thinking of Longest Journey again, which reminds me that I've got to mail Bon's copy.
I'm thinking of Sanitarium, but I'm much too chicken to play it.
So, I'm thinking about dusting off the PS2 (Yes, I got one of those). My sister likes bragging that I've got them all--or at least what's worth having, since I don't have the Dreamcast--and that isn't complaining, that's an attempt at modesty.
What would I play? FFIX for one. I think I remember where I left off. That's why it's hard for me to stop in the middle. I forget where I was. I'm in that funky castle in the desert--the bad guy's hiding place, and I KNOW that there is a card somewhere that I'm supposed to get. So yeah, that's ONE possibility.
Legend of Mana. I have NO idea where I am in that stupid thing. I like it though.
Legend of Dragoon--lost my rhythm, need to get it back. I think I forgotted where I was in that one. (Forgotted is a family joke). Hmm, right after I learn about the Dragoon power I think.
Legend of Legaia? Sure, but don't ask me how I wound up with that one. I ain't a-tellin. I think it's Legend of Legaia. It's ridiculous when you forget what you've got. I think I need to start that one over. Wait...I'm pretty sure it's not Legend of Legaia. It's Tales of Destiny. THAT'S the one.
And I totally forgot about GK3. I haven't gone past 10am on that puppy. I don't know why I'm not playing it. I think that 3D action works my nerves, but I loved Grim Fandango. Go figure. Anyway, one day I've got to knock the dust off that one and play it.
But not today. Besides, Hot Date is out in a week.
